MY FIRST WEEK IN LAW SCHOOL.

This is the first-not-so-first-week of academic year 2009-2010. Haha. Pasukan na pero wala pa talaga. Ang gulo no? Here's a round-up of what happened:

MONDAY.

Technically, this is the first day of classes pero wala talaga. Haha. We had our classroom orientation with section 1S, ang mga masisipag na bata dahil kami ang mga unang nag-enrol sa Beda as Law students. BUT, there are repercussions (being early birds) that will haunt us in our first semester. Hahaha. The orientation was mainly about the discussion of the student's handbook, sbc-college of law that is. Btw, thanks to Kuya "i-forgot-his name" (junior) and to Ate Angelie (not sure-sophomore) who gave us tips on surviving this challenge. It makes sense talaga. We also received the information that our schedules have changed. Sad to say, nawala na ang free day namin which is Wednesday supposedly. Sayang talaga. Hahaha. His record? May mga klase na eleven or ten lang ang pasado and worst, apat lang ang pumasa. Pressure.

TUESDAY.

Batch Orientation. Yes, orientation ulet. Haha. But this time, we had the chance to meet Dean Virgilio Jara, the Vice Dean, Father Rector and the Prefect of Student Affairs. They gave speeches that disturbed the depths of my humanity and encouraged me to be a person of strength because as they say, LAW SCHOOL IS NOT FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED.

So, eto 'yung mga sinabi nila na tumatak sakin.

Dean Virgilio Jara.

ACADEMIC CONCENTRATION CAMP. At buhay pa pala si Hitler?? Haha. CLASSROOM, LIBRARY and the ABBEY. This is very true. Dumaan na nga ako kanina sa Abbey and the chapel is breath-taking talaga. Hahaha. Ora et Labora, Prayer and Work, this will be the key.

ACADEMIC VALLEY OF ROSE. Rose? Isa lang daw talaga kasi Valley of one rose and a thousand thorns. Hahaha. Ganun din.

PERSEVERANCE, CHARACTER, HOPE. These are the things that I must have and if I don't, I will learn it here in the College of Law.

Vice Dean Pablito Perez

DANTE'S 9TH CIRCLE OF HELL AND BOOT CAMP.
Sabi ni Vice Dean, many students think that Law School is like the two abovementioned places but sad to say, it is far more worse. :P

STUNNING ARRAY OF WORK. Nararanasan ko na 'to! Hehe. In Persons and Family Relations, Judge Arcega asked us to memorize 18 articles. Including its annotations, it's 114pages. Mahusay!

SIT DOWN vs. YOU MAY NOW SIT DOWN. This one is simple. Sit Down (Loud Voice) is said to a student who cannot answer or justify his answer, In short, pinaupo na siya dahil walang matinong sinasabi o hindi siya makasagot. You may now sit down (Malumanay) is said to a a student who has answered the question of the professor and has convinced the professor that hereally understood the topic well. Bow.

THERE ARE ONLY TWO TYPES OF EXAMS: UNANNOUNCED AND SURPRISE. What the f***? Actually, this one's expected.

SIGNIFICANT OTHER vs. QPI. It's boyfriend/girlfriend versus your Quantity Point Index or your annual average in the College. For starters like me, I have to have a QPI of 78 to be readmitted as a sophomore. Aja!

Atty. Marciano Delson, Prefect of Student Affairs.

BAPTISM AS BEDANS. "You are born as Barbarians, raised as Barbarians, Now I baptize you as Bedans." Hahaha. This one's I have to disagree. Kasi with his raised-thing, dun sa university where we had our college degrees. DLSU-D has made me a citizen as opposed to having barbaric ties. Yun lang. But don't get me wrong ah, he was making funny statements lang naman pero it strucked me kasi eh. Hahaha. Now, I am a Bedan, a green one.

ORGASMIC HAPPINESS. Law students should not be happy with Orgasmic Happiness alone kasi tulad ng orgasm, mabilis na kaligayahan lang 'to. Atty. Delson also mentioned that our inspirations should be our parents and not our significant other. Example, final exam mo tapos nag-away kayo na syota mo. Sira na ang pag-aaral mo boy! Hahaha.

NO TO FRATERNITIES AND SORORITIES, YES TO BAROPS. Agree. :D

WEDNESDAY.

CRIMLAW. The supposed first meeting with Atty. Amurao was cancelled because of the mass. Haha. Ayun, nagintay na lang kami for our next class.

CONSTI LAW. Our professor was Commissioner Rene Sarmiento from COMELEC. "Dream BIG, Dream EXTRAVAGANT Dreams." Bongga! Hahaha. He seems pretty warm naman kaya lang mahina 'yung boses. He seems very considerate also. He calls everyone attorney/judge. According to him, we will all be lawyers and it's written in the stars! Hahaha. But our assignment after one hour of meeting? Readings from the books of Cruz and Bernas and some seven cases. Tsss.

THURSDAY.

SEMINAR I. Eto na 'yung sinasabi nila na Theo subject namen. Hehe. Though one unit lang, importante 'to in order to have a higher QPI. I rest my case.

PERSONS. Judge Arcega from Bulacan was our professor and she seems fine naman. Hallelujah! Ang ganda din ng aura niya which is nakakatulong sa class to be more relaxed. She also revealed that our class has good stats with the number of sudents who graduated laudes. HAHAHA. Hmm. Anyways, maaga din siya nag-dismiss. Hallelujah ulet!

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.

Classes are suspended because of one positive case of a(h1n1) virus in the campus.

**rest. rest.
